Tiger Tribe’s watercolour set is at first look, very cute. Personally I like the colours and box art on it, the packaging feels strong and sturdy and makes me think of quality. When you hold it in your hands, this feels like something you would give as a gift.
The watercolour paint itself looks initially very similar to a lot of other cake paint, BUT I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. The pack gives you a wide variety of colours which are bright with a thick pigment and for the price point blends quite well.
The Paper is actual Watercolour paper which is great! It’s a nice mid range paper which doesn’t bleed or have any nasty coatings that hold the paint. Excellent to start with and thankfully there are quite a few pages in the kit.
The Kit also comes with a little instruction booklet which was very handy. It's written simply and fairly easy to follow. It's aimed at kids but to be fair a lot of the tips and lessons would be very helpful to anyone starting out in watercolour.
While the water brush is not my personal preference, it is more than adequate for the task and will work for anyone starting out as a beginner. Maybe as the student progresses however they might like to think about buying themselves a proper watercolour brush.
Over all I can say it was refreshing how much I liked the whole kit. The products within this kit are not professional watercolour supplies, BUT they are very good value for the price point. They all work together extremely well and would be an excellent start point for anyone (children or adults) starting out on their watercolour journey.
I would happily recommend this kit and I hope the Tiger Tribe How To Watercolour Kit brings the joy of painting into your life!
