Tiger Tribe was founded in 2007 with a mission to design gifts and toys that tap into a child’s imagination and sense of fun. We continue to create products that do that and more. Whether it’s developing a new skill, mastering a technique, increasing independence, or making fun family memories, Tiger Tribe products nurture confidence and creativity in kids.
Our products are designed to give children the creative freedom to figure things out for themselves. When learning how to draw a turtle, fly a kite, thread a lacing card or stack rings, kids are also practicing how to make choices, solve problems and persevere.
We always get a buzz out of seeing a kid grow in confidence because they’ve just flown a kite for the first time or mastered a tricky painting technique. Confidence comes from learning new skills, and creativity is enhanced when kids trust their own judgement and aren’t afraid to try new things.

We think making toys is just a brilliant job. Every day we strive to create products that foster the confidence and creativity that each child possesses.
Our approach to Sustainability
Here at Tiger Tribe we are all about nurturing kids’ creativity and confidence. We create products to bring joy, spark imagination and help kids learn and master new skills. As a children’s brand we also have a clear responsibility to care for the environment and to help ensure a sustainable future for our kids.
We are working hard to find ways to reduce our impact on the planet. Integrating sustainability into a business is ongoing and we will continue to strive to do better.
Everyday we are taking steps forward: by removing or finding alternatives to plastic in our packaging and products; by switching to sustainable raw materials where possible; by communicating the recyclability of our products at end-of-life and by improving the sustainability of our distribution channels by switching to more eco-friendly packaging materials. Over the years we’ve also formed important partnerships with environmental organisations to help make an even bigger difference.
It’s a journey, but we’re making good progress in a number of areas.
Products and packaging
We are actively committed to reducing the environmental impact of our products and packaging.
- Plastic shrink wrap has been removed from all new products manufactured since July 2022
- Plastic insert trays and plastic bags containing product components have also been removed from almost all new products, replaced with paper bags or paper wraps
- Acetate windows have be removed from most new stationery packaging
- The majority of our products have been free of plastic cable ties and fixings since July 2022
- We have also developed an ECO range of products. Created using sustainable materials these items strive to reduce our impact on the planet even further. Find out more about ECO range here.
These changes will gradually be noticeable in retail stores as products made to these new standards make their way through our supply chain.
Partnerships
We are proud of our partnerships with environmental and community organisations that we supported over the years in different ways.
For several years 2019 we partnered with the Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife (FNPW), a non-government organisation with a mission to safeguard Australia’s ecosystems, wilderness, and flora and fauna now and for future generations.
Our partnership supported a diverse range of FNPW’s important work, including funding for wildlife volunteers, habitat restoration, the creation and growth of national parks and so much more.
Through our collaboration with not-for-profit organisation Earth Crusaders, we are providing key tools to help teach primary school children to become sustainable junior citizens, via fun and interactive incursions and workshops.
For the Summer of 2022 we partnered with the Great Barrier Reef Foundation to help support their important work preserving and protecting one of Australia's most precious natural treasures: the Great Barrier Reef.
From 2023 we started a partnership with i=change. For all purchases made on our www.tigertribe.com.au website, we donate $1 to a life-changing project. People who purchase directly from Tiger Tribe online get to select from one of three projects to donate to. Find out more here.
We continue to develop partnerships with organisations that align with our philosophy and brand. .
Distribution
We are committed to improving the sustainability of our distribution channels by switching to reusable, recyclable or compostable packaging materials.
For our direct consumer orders in Australia we have moved to using Eco Jiffy Bags instead of plastic satchels. Made with a 100% recycled paper fibre interior, the natural brown kraft paper exterior is also fully recyclable.
For larger orders where we do need to use some protective layers around our product we’ve switched to using fully compostable natural starch packaging and recycled boxes.
We also make it a priority to reduce overall packaging size and combined with a sharp focus on timeline management we maximize shipping and freight efficiency.
Recycling
We are committed to reducing product end-of-life waste and to recycling wherever possible. We are working to develop clear communications to customers about how and where to recycle our items.
Moving forward
We will keep working to reduce our environmental impact by focusing on the design of our products, looking at ways to expand their life cycle and to continue to phase out unnecessary single-use plastics wherever possible. Our mission remains to nurture kids’ creativity and confidence and together with our partners we hope to help create a bright future for our kids.
