Love it!
This is a birthday present for a 9 year old girl and I’m sure she will love it. It’s beautifully presented and lockable for her private thoughts and ideas.
Develop the skills of self-awareness and emotional intelligence
There is so much to love about the Tiger Tribe ‘This Is Me’ journal. I’m a huge fan of journaling for processing emotions and developing clarity. This little journal is filled with really useful prompts to help young people to reflect on what they’re thinking and feeling, ultimately helping them to develop the skills of self-awareness and emotional intelligence. The self-reflection activities prompt kids to think about who they are, what matters to them, and what they wish for, which is so important for helping them to cultivate a strong sense of identity and self-confidence. I love that it creates a snapshot in time, capturing all the most important aspects of their inner and outer world. Just quietly, my daughter is 14 and has been eyeing off the Tiger Tribe journal ever since I brought it home so I think the target age range should very much be considered a guide only. Every tween would positively benefit from this journal
I love everything about the ‘this is me’ journal. Tiger Tribe have succeeded in not only designing a fun, enchanting, colourful and aesthetically appealing guided journal but also an exceptionally relevant tool for tweens today. What caught my attention specifically are the carefully designed inclusions of evidence-based well-being interventions and fundamental concepts from the field of well-being science such as self belief, values, mindset and themes covering the absolute cornerstone of well-being: meaning and purpose. My absolute favourite thing about the journal is that it supports young people to identify and label emotions which is a crucial pathway to nurturing empathy. In the busy and volatile world we live in today, it is easy to lose sight of the feelings of others yet empathy is a crucial skill and a trait that can be developed. ‘This is me’ includes an opportunity for tweens to develop this. Additionally the journal has a strong focus on connection. There is a ton of research showing us how fundamental connections with others are and less on the importance of the relationship we have with ourselves, despite the self to self connection being critical. ‘This is me’ beautifully supports both of these connections. From a well-being science expert, parent, and an educator point of view, this carefully designed journal is one that every tween would positively benefit from. A wonderful way to keep creativity alive!
When my daughter first opened her ‘This is Me’ activity pack, she was most excited by the lock and key. On opening it, her eyes lit up as she examined the cool pen and the rubber, and then she began to flick through the pages with delight. There are so many wonderful activities in there that promote mindfulness and the use of imagination. My favourite section was the time capsule and the letter you can write to yourself to open in the years to come. Thank you for this gorgeous product, a wonderful way to keep creativity alive! My favourite of all your products
I can’t count how many Tiger Tribe products I’ve bought my kids over the years — too many to count! But I have to say I think the Tiger Tribe guided journal is perhaps now my favourite of all your products. The questions and prompts encourage kids to think deeply and reflect not just on who they are but on what’s important to them. It’s also a wonderful snapshot in time. My daughter is 12 — so perhaps at the ‘older end’ of your target market. But we both felt that her filling it in will prove to be a time-capsule of this moment. Capturing her interests, hobbies, beliefs and friendships in a gorgeous box. It also offers her some quiet reflection time which is something parents and tweens should grab with both hands. Well done. Reviewed by Rebecca Sparrow - Best-Selling Author
