Gumtree Buddies Pram Book Part of State Government Baby Bundles Initiative

The Victorian State Government will start delivering its new baby bundles to first time parents in maternity hospitals across the state today. The bundle includes essential products new parents need to help guide them through the first few years of their baby’s life, including Tiger Tribe’s very own Gumtree Buddies Pram Book.

The bundle is valued at $150 and comes with a teething ring, nappy bag, safe sleeping bag, a cotton wrap, first aid kit, baby sunhat, toothbrush and a grow suit. A booklet developed in collaboration with Raising Children Network provides vital information on child health, safety and learning and emergency contacts.

There are also four picture books for various stages of a child’s development. Almost 1,200 people had their say on which books should be selected for the bundle, with the public nominating 332 different books.

A panel of experts in childhood literacy and development decided on the winning books, all by Victorian authors:

  • Baby Days by Nicola Philp
  • Ten Little Owls by Renee Treml
  • Puddle Hunters by Kirsty Murray and Karen Blair
  • Gumtree Buddies, a soft pram book by Tiger Tribe

“We are tickled pink to be a part of this thoughtful gift given to new families; to help promote health and literacy is a real honour,” Anthony Green, co-founder of Tiger Tribe said. “We love the idea that babies, in their crucial years of early development, can explore and engage with our Gumtree Buddies while on the go in their prams or in their car seats.”

The Gumtree Buddies Pram Book tells the story of six adorable little friends going about their day. From eating breakfast, to playing at the park, to bubble-bath-time and story-time, the Gumtree Buddies enjoy a day of fun activities that many little people will delight in sharing. A pram book works as both a tactile object that swings on a pram while providing sensory play value, as well as being a stepping stone to the wonderful world of books.
